PFC Walter Przybylowicz Jr
Company B, 2nd Battalion, 12th Cavalry

Killed in Action June 28, 1967

Gunnery Sergeant Walter Calabrese wrote to the 12th Cavalry Regiment Association looking for anyone who served with his uncle, PFC Walter Przybylowicz Jr. who was with Company B, 2/12th Cavalry. Walter was Killed in Action on June 28th 1967 in the Dak To area.

The Webmaster was able to provide the portion of the 1967 Battalion Annual Operating Report that covered the period of June 23rd to June 30th and a copy of Jerry McLain’s personal account of the action on June 28th.  He also mentioned the link to the 2/12th Cavalry e-mail listing and suggested Walter contact men from Company B who served in 1967.

The same day that Walter sent his e-mail request, Martin Tirrell asked the Webmaster to be added to the 2/12th Cavalry e-mail list. Marty served with Company B in 1967. When the Webmaster confirmed the set-up of Marty's e-mail listing he also mentioned the “I’m Looking For” request for information about PFC Walter Przybylowicz.

Marty, who was wounded on June 28, 1967, immediately contacted the Gunny and shared his memories of “Alphabet”. In addition, Betty Przybylowicz Calabrese, sister of Walter Jr. talked by phone to both Marty Tirrell and Jerry McLain about that horrific day.

Both Betty and Walter were appreciative of the information they received.
