REQUEST FOR INFORMATION

Recently Roger King, our long time Treasurer of the 12th Cavalry Regiment Association, resigned his position due to health reasons. All of us owe Roger a big “Thank You!” for his dedication and service through the years to our Association.

Our leadership has asked me to take over the position of Treasurer on an interim basis, until we can find someone who will do us a good job. The books were audited recently and everything has been transferred to me. We have only one problem. Some of the names of those who have sent in their dues and those who gave their dues at some of our recent reunions did not post to our database. The money was deposited, but in some cases, we don’t know who sent in their money. This could include new members who have joined recently.

If you, or if you know someone who has paid their dues, see that the expiration date on your membership on the mailing labels for the Membership Directory or the Crossed Sabers Newsletter (which will go out this month), don’t match what it should be, get in contact with me at (405) 826-8008 or by email at dougwarden444@hotmail.com. I’ll see to it that your expiration date gets corrected and see to it that this doesn’t happen again. Also, if there are veterans of the 12th Cavalry who can’t afford the dues ($10 per year) who read this, please contact me and we’ll see to it that we take care of your membership. Thanks to all of you for your support of our Association.

Doug Warden
Interim Treasurer

ATTENTION: Troopers and Ladies of the 12th Cavalry Regiment Association

Official Dates of the 7th Annual Reunion are 4th-8th Sep 2012 (Tue-Sat); AO Branson, MO., LZ Savannah House Hotel, 165 Expressway Lane. Banquet Night Festivities will begin 1900Hrs(700PM) Friday 7th Sep. Our Guest of Honor and Keynote Speaker will be Joseph L. Galloway, Co-Author w/LT. Gen. (Ret) Hal G. Moore of the National bestseller "We Were Soldiers Once-And Young" and their sequel book "We Are Soldiers Still: A Journey Back to the Battlefields of Vietnam". It is an experience those of us who have made the 12th Reunion over the past six (6) years, those who have missed some and have not made this Reunion yet; will not want to miss! Troopers; do everything possible to make this gathering of Charging Chargers, health and Grace of the Head Pointman permitting.

We realize this is back to back with C 1/12 Reunion in Greenbay, WI, 20-24 Aug and may be a stretch for many of us who would like to do both, however; it was the best time we could schedule Joe and have access to the excellent amenities at the Savannah House. Doug Warden and I, C 1/12 ('66,'67,'68) will attend both and hope that all of our C Company Brothers can and will do so.

Savannah House has 151 Rooms available, 120 Reserved for the 12th Regiment 4-8 Sep.; Room types are-King Jacuzzi Suite-$105.00 per night; King Jacuzzi Room-$85.00 per night; standard King and Double Queen Rooms-$78.00 per night. These include Breakfast and evening dessert/snack bar of ice cream, cobbler, cookies etc w/special table for those w/diabetes. There are two (2) Executive type suites available-2Bdrm/2 Bath-Kitchen/Bar facilities for $120.00 per night.

Tuesday 4th Sep 1900Hrs Hamburger/Hotdog/Baked Beans Welcoming Reception will be in our excellent Hospitality Room Area which we have exclusive use of from the 4th-8th. Our standard fare show 'Hits of the 60s' will be 1400Hrs(200PM) Wed 5th; the show will have added features this year in Honor of the Group's 10th Year Anniversary, always great entertainment; optional show: The Haygoods Thu 6th Sep; Banquet Fri 7th Sep and the Memorial Service Sat 1000Hrs. Checkout times are 1300Hrs(100PM); those choosing to can stay through Sunday.

Savannah House is in the Northwest part of Branson overlooking the surrounding Hills, next to the Mansion Theatre, with numerous other restaurants and show places within 5 minutes. Added convenience is the VA Clinic just across the street behind the hotel. Friday Banquet will be in the facilities at the Camden Hotel, affiliated with the Savannah; it is an 8 minutes drive and bus transportation will be provided as parking at the Camden will be limited. Transport from Savannah will begin on or about 1730Hrs(530PM) and return about 1000PM.

If you would like to purchase one (1) or both of Joe's books the cost will be $25.00 each; please indicate such on the Registration Forms Doug Warden will provide so that we may place the order/requests at least six (6) weeks prior. Joe will be available for book signings between 6th-8th. Last year we had a record attendance of 193 Troopers/Spouses and Special Guests at Banquet; lets see if we can exceed that this year. Pass the word on to the Brothers/Sisters and look for further details in the Division Saber Column!
